Why Baja Kids Café

Made for your child to enjoy, and for you too

  • Cool inside

It is hot outside; inside it is air conditioned all year. Indoor play, away from the sun and dust.

  • A teacher who knows your child

Ilse is an English teacher, certified in early stimulation and in yoga. Small groups by age: she attends to each child and talks with you about how they are doing.

  • You get to rest too

Specialty coffee and fresh pastries at a table with the play area in view.

  • Two worlds to play in

The desert room, with a sand area, play houses, a play kitchen and books for every kind of kid, and the ocean room, with a yoga floor and mats for classes.

The desert

Coffee for you, play for your child

Two rooms, desert and ocean, indoors and air conditioned.

Your table

Specialty coffee, fresh pastries and a table you can actually stay at. Your child plays a few steps away, in view from your chair.

The play area

A sand area with buckets, shovels and toy cars, little play houses, a play kitchen and books, indoors and air conditioned. There is something for every interest, so your child stays happily busy. This is open play: each adult accompanies and looks after their child. For children up to age 8.

The ocean

The art and yoga room

The private ocean-themed room is where classes happen: small groups by age, always with the same teacher, who attends to each child. Art follows the seasons, and your child takes their work home. Times are confirmed when enrollment opens.

Frequently asked questions

What families ask us

Everything you need before your first visit. Prices are in Mexican pesos, tax included.

Your visit

Do I need to book ahead to come and play?

No. Just come during opening hours and pay on the spot for a 1-hour, 2-hour or day pass; you do not need to buy a membership. If you already have a membership, you are always in. Weekday classes (yoga, art, early stimulation and the mixed class) do need signing up in advance on WhatsApp so we can plan each group; you can pay for a pack ahead of time or when you arrive for class. There are no sign-up classes on weekends.

Can I come just for coffee, without a child?

Yes. The coffee bar is open to everyone, no pass or membership needed; only the play area needs one. Keep in mind it is a cafe with children playing: if you want quiet time, early mornings are usually the calmest.

What ages can use the play area?

The play area is for children up to 8 years old. A responsible adult must stay in the cafe the whole time.

Where are you located?

You will find us at Carr. Transpeninsular 47, Club Campestre, 23090 La Paz, B.C.S., inside Club Campestre in La Paz.

What are your hours?

Here are our hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 3:00–8:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.. On weekdays we close at midday and open again in the afternoon; Saturday and Sunday we stay open straight through.

Classes and parties

What are the baby classes like?

Groups of up to 5 babies with their mom, dad or guardian, with advance enrollment. Monday to Friday; the schedule is confirmed when enrollment opens. Each class is $350 pesos per baby, or $1,000 for the 4-class pack.

How old can the babies be?

Baby classes are for little ones up to 3 years old. Message us and we will tell you which group yours belongs in.

How do I plan a birthday party?

Tell us your preferred date and how many children and adults are coming, on WhatsApp or with the party form. We’ll check availability and send a proposal. Your booking is confirmed after the details are agreed and the deposit is received. Parties start at $3,900 pesos per event with 5 children included, up to 10 children.

Prices and membership

What does the two-hour pass include?

Two hours in the play area for one child, for $280 pesos. There is also a one-hour pass for $160. On weekends you can add the art room for $90.

What does the day pass include?

The day pass ($450 pesos) is good for any day we are open: your child can play for the whole of that day. We close at midday on weekdays, and on weekends the pass includes the open art room.

What happens in the art room on weekends?

On Saturdays and Sundays there are no enrolled classes: the art room is open for drawing and crafts, with someone on hand to help and look after the materials. It is included with both memberships and with the day pass, and costs $90 pesos with a one-hour or two-hour pass.

How do the memberships work?

There are two memberships, paid monthly per child. The Play membership ($1,990 pesos) includes unlimited free play, the open art room on weekends, 10% off drinks and member pricing on classes: $280 for a single class, $840 for the 4-class pack and $1,520 for the 8-class pack. The Play + Classes membership ($2,690) includes all of that plus 4 classes a month, one a week; classes you do not use do not roll over to the next month.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, any time, with no contract. Let us know on WhatsApp or at the counter before your next payment date; the month you already paid runs to its end, with no prorated refund. If you cancel a founding-rate membership, that rate cannot be restored. If we close for 3 or more days in a row (weather, a hurricane or another cause outside your control), your membership is extended by those days.

What is the founding-family rate?

The first 40 families on the founding list pay $1,490 pesos a month for the Play membership for 12 months from opening. After that they move to the standard price of $1,990.

Is there a sibling or referral discount?

Yes. A second child from the same family pays $1,490 pesos a month for the Play membership, or $2,090 for Play + Classes. And if you refer a family and they buy a membership or a class pack, both families get a free class: one for every family you refer, with no cap. You use that class within 30 days, in any time slot with an open spot.

How do the class packs work?

The 4-class pack is $1,000 pesos and is for one class a week; the 8-class pack is $1,800 and is for two classes a week. Both are valid for 6 weeks. If a spot is free, you can also take a single class for $350 by letting us know the day before.

Do your prices include tax?

Yes. Every price we publish is in Mexican pesos and includes tax.
